This metal drive spike is a great addition for any traditional rise and fall set up. The spike is traditionally driven into the mortar between bricks and set to a distance that allows the cup to clear the overhang of the roof.
If your original spikes have perished due to rusting or have bent due to snow loads, then this metal drive in stay allows you to replace the damaged part and re-use your original rise & fall cups.
The spike has a hole at one end to allow the thread of your rise & fall cup to pass through it.
Dimensions:
Full length = 300mm
Hole diameter for cup = 10mm
Hole centre position = 16mm from end of spike
Made from 25x5 316L marine grade stainless steel.
If your cups are still in good order then this product will save you paying out for a complete stay and cup set.
IMPORTANT NOTE
If you are using a metal rise & fall cup which is not stainless steel you need to coat both surfaces to avoid galvanic corrosion. This is particularly important in coastal areas with a higher salt content in the atmosphere. Do not put naked materials in direct contact with each other.
